Twenty four year old dancer – Ozzicado Phiri scooped the Sizinda Has Got Talent title last Saturday, shrugging off competition from nine other finalists.

For winning, Phiri walked away with a bed and hamper courtesy of African Distillers.

The trio of Lindani Mabhena, Talent Mhlanga and Providence Mpala collectively known as the Magesh Juniors took second position and won a gas heater and hampers courtesy of Ingwebu Breweries. Mike Phiri came third and rode away on a bicycle that was sponsored by Esprit.

Among the judges was Highlanders Football Club vice chairman Modern Ngwenya with the club's chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede as guest of honour.

An elated Ozzicado Phiri said winning the competition was a dream come true adding that the bed could not have come at a better time.

"My old bed was in a very bad state and I'll certainly have a good night sleep on the new bed. Though I dance with Magesh Seniors, I decided to enter the competition alone and I'm glad I won," said Phiri.

Sizinda Has Got Talent spokesman, Chrispen Ndlovu said the talent search which is now in its fourth season will be spreading its wings to other high density suburbs in Bulawayo.

"In September the talent search show will be spreading its wings to other high density suburbs targeting beer halls owned by the local municipality.

"We want to grow the talent search show to include everyone in Bulawayo who thinks they have what it takes to win. This season we started with well over 100 contestants coming out for auditions and we downsized to only 10 for the final," said Ndlovu.

"Three winners from each suburb will compete at a grand finale in December."

The talent search is sponsored by Ingwebu Breweries, African Distillers and Esprit.
