Chiredzi West MP Darlington Chiwa together with his wife have approached the courts to seek a protection order against two brothers in the army, Captain Faster Gono and Lt Colonel Gono.

Masvingo Mirror reported that Chiwa claims that the two are threatening to kill them as they always disrupt his meetings with the electorate.

In court papers seen by The Mirror dated December 14, 2015 and filed at Masvingo Civil Court, Mirriam Chiwa (wife) and Wilford Shave alleges that the two Gono brothers who are serving members of the Zimbabwe National Army and both attached to Maguta Programme in Chiredzi have a tendency to disrupt their meetings.

The three said on July 5, 2015 the two brothers disrupted a meeting in Triangle and they barred Chiwa from addressing another meeting at Chikomo School saying he was suspended from Zanu PF so as soldiers they should not allow him to hold any meeting.

They also claimed that the duo threatened to shoot them on several occassions and even went to their home to openly threaten them.

"I verily believe that I have a right to live in peace and hold meetings as long as they are within the ambit of the law. Respondents have no right to threaten me as that will be infringing my rights which are enshrined in the Constitution of Zimbabwe" reads Chiwa's affidavit.

A provisional protection order which compels Gono brothers not to disturb Hon Chiwa`s peace was granted and the parties were to appear at Masvingo Civil Court on January 7, 2016 for the final order.
