An influx of imported goods and services on the market has created stiff competition which many local companies have failed to withstand, said Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) president Godfrey Dube.
Dube said sustainable re-branding will enhance companies marketability and products, New Ziana news agency reported.
"Business is shifting nowadays. After the country adopted the use of multiple foreign currencies, overseas companies have shown interest in exporting to Zimbabwe which created competition in the local market," he said.
"This means local firms should rebrand and match international standards to be recognised. With branding our product or service will be marketable to different market forces," he added.
Duke cited the re-branding of Zimbabwe's tourism sector which he believes had started to achieve positive results in garnering international recognition.
