Platform One, a South African musical group that was in the country for a week, has left Zimbabwe after failing to secure a licence to perform.

Sources told Saturday Leisure this week that Platform One left the country on Thursday after failing to get clearance from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) to perform in the country.

The group was supposed to perform at Jabula Inn in Esigodini tonight.

Director of Jabula Inn, Jorum Moyo confirmed that the group's show had been cancelled because it failed to get clearances from NACZ.

"Platform One was in the country on holiday for a week and we then decided to organise a show but unfortunately the group could not get the clearance to perform," said Moyo.

He said the group which was in the country for a holiday, had agreed to perform at his place but unfortunately he failed to get the clearance.

Moyo said he later learnt that it was not possible to get such clearance at a short notice as it required about a month for a foreign group to be cleared to perform in the country.

"We really wanted our fans to have a big show on New Year's Eve but that has since been cancelled," he said.

Moyo however said plans were underway to organise another show in future.
