Lovemore Majaivana recording remixes of his oldies

Record producer Tymon Mabaleka has acknowledged that musicians from Matabeleland region had not been recording their music although there was abundant talent.

He said the move to record these artists would revive the forgotten music genre.

"We have recorded Allan Ndoda, a Plumtree boy currently a hit in South Africa. While he has been recording in South Africa, he has decided to record with us. We can rate him in the same league as Alick Macheso." said Mabaleka.

Ndoda is a young talented musician who does all his vocals and plays bass guitar. Mabaleka said the young musician recorded early this month and the album would be ready for release in October.

Gramma Records is also recording Madhala Boy, a Bulawayo musician based in South Africa.

"The other reason why these musicians are opting to record in the country is that studios in South Africa cannot match our standards when recording sungura. We are the best for recording sungura because we record with both analogue and digital for the best sound."

Ndandanda Boys has recorded two albums with Gramma Records which would be ready in the coming months. "Gali, who used to play drums for Ndlowani band has also recorded his debut album."

Renowned musician Lovemore Majaivana based in United States was reportedly in the country to record remixes of his oldies with Gramma. Majaivana is one of the most seasoned musicians from Bulawayo.
