Luanda - Prime minister, Morgan Tsivangirai, arrived Wednesday afternoon in Luanda to attend the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) from May 31 to June 1 in the Angolan capital.

Speaking to the press on arrival at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, Tsivangirai highlighted the importance of the Luanda meeting, saying he will inform the session about the political situation in Zimbabwe.

The prime minister's delegation that was welcomed on arrival by the secretary of State of Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto, includes the Foreign minister, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Regional Cooperation, Priscila Mushongo, has been in Luanda since Tuesday.

The Luanda meeting will discuss matters related to the process of regional integration. Alongside, the Troika ((Angola, Mozambique and Namibia), SADC Council of Ministers and the regional organ for Political, Defence and Security Cooperation will meet with the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.

The meeting will also review political matters like the crisis in Madagascar and the Troika report on the SADC campaign for the presidency of the African Union.

Angola took up the SADC chair in August 2011. The regional organisation groups Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritius, Seychelles, Malawi, Swaziland, Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Madagascar has been suspended from the organisation, on account of a coup d’Etat that disrupted constitutional order in the country.
