Lupane residents are reportedly complaining about the Lupane State University Vice Chancellor Pardon Kuipa whom they accuse of having relocated the students to the Lupane camps when all facilities were not yet ready.

They also accused him of serious tribal oriented employment of staff at the university at the same time allegedly having bedded about 15 women in the area.

"WE supported the relocation of the university to the campus but there are a lot of facilities which are not in place and the situation at campus is just a health time bomb. The prerequisite of relocation to the site was superposed to be functioning sewerage system, proper water reticulation, adequate energy or electricity and adequate houses for students. At the moment some students sleep in fours which is not proper," said the resident.

The residents said in relocation to the campus Kuipa must have left some of the faculties to operate in Bulawayo where there are facilities especially the programmes which have blocks.

"If Kuipa is doing these things against the people he is not here to build but to destroy the university," said the resident. "He is also fond of abusing workers saying he is not the late former VC who was just lazy. He has within the shortest period here bedded around 15 women and in the agricultural department he has employed people from his own tribe."

The residents said Kuipa is a very bitter man after the residents recently rejected him to be a board member of the local board..

Efforts to get comment from Kuipa were fruitless.
