Pastor prophesies HIV status of congregants during a church service

A Bulawayo pastor shocked all and sundry when he prophesied and 'divulged' the HIV status of congregants during a church service.

The Pumula South based City of Grace Pastor Brian Mutandazi is claiming to have cured 13 people of the deadly virus. According to sources, the can of worms was opened recently during one of the church services at a hall in the suburb. A number of congregants are reported to have desrted the service in fear of being exposed.

"Some of the people could not stand the humiliation and took off while those who had been fingered as having contracted HIV cried and wailed. Those that were prophesied negative were ecstatic and ululated in happiness. He has a large following and people fear him. I guess it is because of his POWERS. So maybe that is the reason why he did so," said the source.

We managed to catch up with a congregant who was told of his status incognito.

"I had gone there with my girlfriend. The pastor pointed at her and asked her to come forward. She did so and that is when all started. The pastor told her that she had only one boyfriend who happens to be myself and the man of God went on to tell her that I have three girlfriends. He then said her boyfriend (myself) has HIV and that she also has been infected," said one of the congregants.

The man said his relationship to the woman hit rock bottom soon after the news.

"Yes, she trusts me but such things often have telling effects on a relationship. We went for an HIV test which and we both tested negative. I strongly believe that he tarnished my image After saying all that he had the audacity to encourage my girlfriend to dump me," he added.

However, Pastor Brian said he did not mention people by names.

"Yes I prophesies people's HIV status but I never pin pointed anyone. Why would I do that? Since I started my prophecies, about 13 people whom I had prophesied positive went for testing and came out positive. I then prayed for them and after that they went back and were told to be NEGATIVE. It is God's power," said Pastor Brian.
