Breaking News: WOZA activists in rare demonstration in BYO

A group of Women for Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) female activists are currently laying on the tarmac in Bulawayo along fourth and main street demonstration over devolution.

The women numbering close to 30 say they want devolution of power not only to be enshrined in the constitution but implemented.

They have blocked traffic by rolling on the road.

WOZA is fronted by award winning activist, Jennie Williams.

By 11:15 am there was no sign of police details but scores have been arrested in previous demonstrations.
                         

Today's protests is code named "Hoot/ Vuvuzela 4 Devolution"

"We demand an end to police and military occupation of our streets, they are our streets! We will occupy them exercising our right to peaceful protests, freedom of assembly and expression," read the flyers that are distributed.

The women said "Bulawayo and Matabeleland is dying because of centralised decisions to kill us. The elite have killed Bulawayo and now they are killing other parts of Zimbabwe,"

Seven of the protesters were arrested.
