Mayor Thaba Moyo says the municipality has resolved to conduct a job evaluation before end of the year.
"In the job evaluation we want to determine if it is necessary to retain the staff that we have or bring in more workers. "It can go either way" said Moyo.
After the exercise, recommendations would be made to either retrench or add more workers.
However, there is already panic within the workforce that scores of people would be made redundant.
This is compounded by the fact that the local authority is fast embracing Information technology, which could see workers losing jobs owing to computers.
The restructuring has been a result of a need to improve service delivery. However, during a 2013 budget consultation meeting, residents complained that council wage bill is too high and does not tally with service delivery.
