President Robert Mugabe has implored Zimbabweans to devise more ways of honouring departed heroes and heroines.

Mugabe made the remarks on Saturday when he launched the Solomon Mujuru Trust Foundation at Ruzambu Farm in Beatrice.

The late retired general’s family, relatives and friends saw it befitting to honour one of their own by forming a trust foundation as a way of keeping Solomon Mujuru’s legacy alive and at the same time helping others achieve their ambitions.

The Solomon Mujuru trust foundation aims at promoting the vision of the late Mujuru in areas that will benefit the generality of Zimbabweans such as health, education, agriculture, mining and commerce.

The trust will provide loans, grants and bursaries to students and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the country.

Vice President Joice Mujuru vowed to keep her late husband’s dreams alive especially his desire to fully utilise the land.

The late Retired General Solomon Tapfumaneyi Ruzambu Mujuru or Rex Nhongo as he was popularly, died on the 15th of August 2011 and was declared a national hero. His remains are interred at the national shrine.
