'I have never been scared of Mugabe' - Dabengwa says

Dumiso Dabengwa said he is shocked that Zimbabweans are afraid of President Robert Mugabe saying he has never been scared of the 88 year old leader.

"There has never been a time when I was afraid to tell Mugabe what is on my mind, I am not afraid of him," said Dabengwa, who is ZAPU president.

" I am shocked that people are afraid of Mugabe. I worked with that man for 10 years after independence. We used to talk are respect each other but there reached a time when I realised that I could not work with him anymore.

"I will never go back to Zanu PF" the vowed.

Dabengwa said Mugabe is acting as he owns Zanu PF, saying Mugabe made is clear in 2002 in South Africa during an Earth Summit when he told former British prime minister Tony Blair to " keep your England and I will keep my Zimbabwe".

There have been reports that senior Zanu PF members in Matabeleland are begging Dabengwa to re-join Zanu PF.
