Commuters have called for the return of ZUPCO buses in urban areas to help alleviate transport blues that have rocked the transport sector.
At one time, ZUPCO used to be the only reliable and efficient passenger transporter.
Many years down the line, only memories remain as the company is now a pale shadow of its former self.
Most former ZUPCO commuters say they remember the excellent service record and even though the company's operations have ceased in urban centres, they still long for them.
ZUPCO services stretched all across the country but today the few buses are only plying long distance routes.
Commuters say ZUPCO is the missing essential player in local urban transport.
While the company is still operational, signs of recapturing its former glory still look gloomy.
Observers say the starting point for ZUPCO should be to embark on a vigorous drive to reclaim its urban transport market share.
