Precision Air brings to two the number of new players that are set to fly into Zimbabwe before the end of the year after Netherlands based Royal Dutch KLM Airline recently announced it will commence flights in October.
CAAZ Chairman, Advocate Jacob Mudenda said the drift of airlines to the Zimbabwean market this year has been a great sign of confidence in the country as an international destination.
"Dutch KLM and Precision Air of Tanzania have confirmed that they will commence flights before the end of the year. The airlines are taking advantage of the UNWTO conference scheduled for next year," said Advocate Mudenda.
The airline will service the Harare-Dar-es-Salam route that used to be serviced by Air Zimbabwe and Air Tanzania before they pulled out.
According to its website, the airline was established in 1993 and is publicly listed, with 49% owned by Kenya Airways and 51% owned by a Tanzanian businessman.
International and regional airlines have been literally scrambling to ply the Zimbabwean route in the absence of Air Zimbabwe.
This year has so far witnessed three new entrants in the form of Fly Emirates, Air Namibia and Zimbabwean registered Fresh Air.
