A marriage is on the verge of collapse after the husband impregnated their domestic worker.

Tapiwa Murehwa has been evicted from his in-laws house where he had been staying with his wife Rungano Tapusa after he impregnated their domestic worker only identified as Felistas. The matter was heard at the Harare civil court where Rungano was seeking a peace order to bar Tapiwa from coming to her parents house.

"I am very bitter with what he did to me, we have been staying together at my late parents' house but he disrespected me to the extent of impregnating our maid called Felistas. I am now seeking a peace order to bar him from coming to the house until I get over the emotional pain that I am going through," said Rungano.

She went on to tell the court that Tapiwa would use the matrimonial bedroom as their love nest.

"I was reliably informed that each time I would go to work Tapiwa would invite Felistas in our main bedroom and sleep with her and that is what really hurts me the most," she said.

Meanwhile, Tapiwa admitted that the allegations were true, but told the court that he was regretting his actions.

"Well what happened was a mistake, it just happened because I was not going to work and I was spending much time at home with the maid but I really regret what happened. I have no intentions of marrying Felistas. I only sent her back to her parents' place and paid everything that was needed there and I still love my wife. Now she doesn't want me to see her at the house and she once told me that she now has another boyfriend," he said.

Magistrate Milton Serima, who presided over the case, granted the peace order and cautioned Tapiwa not to disturb Rungano's peace.
