Local Government minister Ignatius Chombo has invited Tsholotsho senator Believe Gaule (MDC-T) to rejoin Zanu-PF to safeguard his political career. Gaule was once a Zanu-PF district co-ordinating committee chairperson.
Speaking at the installation of Brilliant Nhlonipho Moyo as Chief Tategulu in Tsholotsho last week, Chombo urged Zanu-PF supporters to rally behind their party candidates to ensure a resounding victory in the forthcoming general elections.
"We ask him that he returns to the party otherwise the senatorial seat will evade him," said Chombo.
But Gaule dismissed Chombo's assertions saying he would never go back to Zanu-PF.
Chombo told Zanu-PF supporters to retain former Information minister Jonathan Moyo as parliamentary candidate and Matabeleland North governor Sithokozile Mathuthu as acting provincial chairperson.
"There are some who want to challenge President Robert Mugabe. If it is (MDC-T leader Morgan) Tsvangirai, I do not know, but my bones are refusing (to accept that)," Chombo said. Senator Zanu-PF MDC-T
