THE Highlanders Heart and Soul Supporters Association wants to spread the Bosso gospel and recruit more members to their ranks all over the country by the end of this year.
Heart and Soul chairman Peacot Hadebe confirmed this yesterday.
"At the moment we have about 34 members in Bulawayo alone although after the Caps United match we are getting more calls from the Highlanders family who want to join us and as such we are planning on approaching the team's executive to get permission to go on a nationwide recruitment drive.
"We want more members to join so that we become a big force for the team and be the 12th man in all their matches. If we get more members we can also generate more income amongst ourselves or source to help out the team as at the moment we are responsible for feeding the team in all their home matches and this is just the beginning," Hadebe said.
The association painted the team's camp house at Luveve two weeks ago.
Hadebe said the young association which was formed last year in January but only blew up this year was aiming at helping the team more in the near future in cash and kind to help keep the team motivated.
"Our aim is to grow and have sound roots so that we can do fundraising drives or solicit funds from corporates to help the team in every way we can to help boost their morale all the time on and off the pitch as that is the sole reason we came up together," he said.
The Heart and Soul chairman said they wished they could do more for their pride which this year had risen from the ashes to be the fearsome giant that had dominated in the early 2000s and was giving its multitude of fans spectacular football and hope for a Premier Soccer League title once more.
He urged all Bosso lovers to attend the team's matches and even the away matches as they would always engage a Bosso partner to release some buses to ferry fans to all the away matches.
Hadebe also said all fans were free to join the association and there was no joining fee but all that was required was one's love for the people's team and attendance in their weekly meetings on Fridays.
They also encourage members to be fully paid up members of the club.
"We also intend to meet the Bosso technical team to discuss issues and tell them we are behind them every step of the way for the good of the team. Whether we have won a match or lost we are behind them," Hadebe said.
Hadebe said they would have an official launch by the end of this year.
The chairman is Hadebe and his deputy is Khetha Marizani, the secretary is Reason Sibanda, Joseph Dube is the treasurer, the organising secretaries are Albert Masuku and Cecilia Malunga while the committee members are Duduzo Sibanda, George Sibanda and Mgcini Sibanda.
