Knowledge Musona scores for FC Augsburg

Zimbabwean soccer striker, Knowledge Musona on Friday scored for his German club FC Augsburg and helped the team progress to the second round of the German Cup in the Bundesliga.

The Smiling Assassin was on the score sheet after striking in the 78th minute to hand his Bundesliga side a 2-nil victory over SV Wilhelmshaven.

The victory saw FC Augsburg ease into the second round of the German Cup.

Another off-season signing, Ariside Bance was on target after opening the scoring in the 28th minute.

Musona, who is on loan from FC Hoffenheim, will be encouraged by his early form at FC Augsburg.

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker moved from South Africa after being signed by TSG Hoffenheim.

The Aces Youth Academy product however struggled at Hoffenheim where he scored just once against FC Cologne in a German Cup second round encounter in October last year.

After making just 16 appearances at Hoffenheim, Musona was loaned to FC Augsburg where he is slowly rekindling the form that attracted several European clubs while he was at Kaizer Chiefs.

Despite Musona's rich vein in form, Zimbabwe is losing his talent because ZIFA has not cleared the former Kaizer Chiefs marksman of match fixing allegations levelled against him.
