THE troubled Welshman Ncube led MDC has lost another senior member, Joshua Mhambi, the former national spokesman who was recently seconded to the party's international relations wing.

Although both Mhambi and the party said they had mutually parted ways, insiders revealed that the former spokesperson was frustrated out of the party after stepping on the toes of an "influential" female member.

Reeling from its dismal performance in the 2013 harmonised elections, the party has lost a number of senior officials including Mhambi's predecessor, Nhlanhla Dube, former director for policy and planning, Qhubani Moyo, former chairperson Goodrich Chimbaira and his deputy Frank Chamunorwa.

Chimbaira, Dube and Chamunorwa resigned from the party after they were singled out as being part of a "rebellious gang of four" that included Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga who had allegedly turned against Ncube.

The party's former treasurer Paul Themba Nyathi also resigned from the party in June to pursue personal interests.

MDC deputy president Edwin Mushoriwa in a statement yesterday said Mhambi's resignation followed his reassignment to the International Relations and External Structures department, with the post's previous holder Kurauone Chihwayi switching to the spokesperson's post.
