Let the foolish dream on, Cdes

Dear Cabinet and Politburo members,

COMRADES, I am made to understand that this fake pastor called Evan Mawarire who has sold his soul for a few pieces of silver is busy mobilising people to make a show of protesting against us in New York for the annual United National General Assembly Summit.

Who really cares? Let him mobilise as many people as his western handlers can afford to pay and they can protest outside of the UN headquarters for several weeks, even months on end and shout their voices hoarse, but as far as we are concerned, that will not make any difference at all. Our party was overwhelmingly voted into office by the people barely three years ago, so we do not see what this silly event will achieve for the ordinary person in Zimbabwe… save for getting him to get what he thinks is personal glory that he was not going to get by preaching to those folks in Norton.

There is nothing new about this … whenever there are meetings in the region and internationally, these opportunists who are tricking the gullible West of their money in the name of fighting against us, have always been there, claiming to be "lobbying" the international community to put pressure on us to "democratise". But we know that the truth of the matter is that these people - who have perfected what we prefer to call "The Madhuku Strategy" make lots of money just by making a show of opposing our party.

It has actually become a lucrative career for many of them … there are lots of them who have never been engaged in productive work ever since they left school … all they do is go into Belgravia with their project proposals that purport to show that they are concerned about democracy, human rights, rule of law and some such rainbow phrases, and the rest is history… money starts flowing into their back pockets.

This is a strategy that has been used by many before this fake pastor - who is actually an ardent fan of mine - came along. We notice that there is one chap called Zvorwadza who is doing his best to ensure eyes that matter from the West notice him.

We wish him and others like him all the best.

On a positive note, we are quite encouraged by news reaching us from New York that our Pan African brothers and sisters in the US in the mould of the likes of Cde Coltrane Chimurenga, Sister Viola Plummer and tens of thousands of others will be having their own demonstration to counter that of these opportunists. It means that the world is seeing the good things that we are doing for our people here.

Meanwhile, being a party that forgives, we are bringing back some of the Comrades who had been caught in the crossfire when we were fumigating the party to get rid of pests. Since most of us are devout Christians, I am sure we all fully understand the importance of forgiving … and I also appreciate the need to temper justice with mercy.

Very soon we will be having Cdes Nicholas, Webster etc back in the party to work hard as ever before … it is emerging now that most of these very loyal cadres were just tricked into a plot that they knew nothing about.

Kindest Regards

Yours Sincerely
ME

… AND CZ'S NOTEBOOK

Reality
It looked like chickens were finally coming home to roost… that is if what we were being told about our stubborn government last week was anything to go by.

Last week Finance Minister, Patrick Chinamasa, announced that government was sacking 25 000 people from its bloated workforce… that it would be cutting salaries and that the civil servants-that not longtime ago Labour and Social Welfare Minister, Cde Prisca Mupfumira revealed are the least productive-should forget and smile about annual bonuses.

We thought aloud that sadly these preventative measures are coming a lot too late… the patient has already suffered a severe stroke.

That is when Information minister, Cde Christopher Mushohwe, came forward this week with a statement "correcting" Chinamasa… no such thing as job cuts, salary cuts, and bonus suspension is going to take place as these satanic proposals were shot down by Cabinet on July 12 this year!

Are you confused dear Dr CZ's fan? Same as Yours Truly! Now do you have an appreciation of why on June 2, 1982 Dr CZ decided to dismiss himself from the cult called Zanu-PF?

Why in a case like this Chinamasa - a very brilliant lawyer in his own right - cannot follow Dr CZ's honourable example by tendering his resignation cannot be explained outside that abnormal psychological condition called masochism.

Does it therefore come as a surprise that this sorry apology for a country is in the quagmire it finds itself in? All our problems - which we have the effrontery to try and make them appear light by calling them "challenges"-are self-afflicted. Whoever cursed us as a nation would make even the devil himself very ashamed!

Good!
At the rate things appear to be falling apart in Zanu-PF, all Dr CZ can do is to congratulate himself for making a divine-inspired move to dismiss himself from the party a long time ago, before he suffered the humiliation of being accused of this and that - things that everyone would be doing - and getting booted out ignominiously.

It looks like no one can really say they are safe in that party.

A month ago, who would have thought that this time around it would be Saviour Kasukuwere's turn to go through the baptism of fire?

We loved it when the official media lead the vicious onslaught. It went like this: "Let us get to the point. We take great exception to Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister Saviour Kasukuwere's statement last week vis-à-vis land earmarked for housing for young Zimbabweans. As reported … before Wednesday's Politburo meeting President Mugabe asked Minister Kasukuwere a very simple question.

"He wanted to know what was happening to youth land allocations in relation to a report we had carried earlier pertaining to alleged opacity in the matter. Instead of seriously confronting an issue that is of existential interest to millions of young Zimbabweans, the honourable Minister chose to say "vakanga vashaya zvekunyora".

"Surely, can a whole national paper, the biggest weekly in the country for that matter, sit down to conspire to dream up a story just so as to fill up space? The Sunday Mail does not inhabit a fantastical realm, a phantasmagorical plain where non-existent Tadyanemhandu beheadings occur.

"When we raise issues, when we publish stories, it is not in pursuit of personal agendas or maligning individuals. It is because there is a matter of national concern that needs redress for the good of the citizenry. We have neither the brief nor the time to immerse ourselves in whatever personal score settling may be taking place between some individuals in government or the ruling party. Can our politicians and public servants simply address the issues at hand?"

Dr CZ cannot help but get impressed by the show of seriousness that the paper, which is news in its own right, sometimes make when it takes spoofing to a whole new level altogether!

Wisdom
When Mahatma Gandhi was studying law at the University College of London, a white professor, whose last name was Peters, disliked him intensely and always displayed prejudice and animosity towards him.

Also, because Gandhi never bowed his head when addressing him like most others, there were always "arguments" and confrontations.

One day, Prof Peters was having lunch at the cafeteria when Gandhi came along with his tray and sat next to him. The professor said: "Mr Gandhi, you do not understand. A pig and a bird do not sit together to eat." Gandhi looks at him as a parent would look at a rude child and calmly replied: "You do not worry, Prof. I'll fly away." He then went and sat at another table. Prof Peters, reddened with rage, decided to take revenge on him at the next test paper, but Gandhi responded brilliantly to all questions. Unhappy and frustrated, he asked Gandhi the following question: "If you were walking down the street and found two packages; one, full of wisdom and the other, a lot of money, which one would you take?" Without hesitating, Gandhi responded: "The one with the money, of course." Prof Peters, smiling sarcastically said, "I would have taken the wisdom, don't you think?" "Each one takes what he doesn't have." Gandhi responded. So great was Prof Peters' anger that he wrote on Gandhi's examination sheet the word "

IDIOT" and gave it to Gandhi. Gandhi took the exam sheet. A few minutes later, Gandhi got up, went to the professor and said to him in a dignified, but sarcastically polite tone: "Prof, you signed the sheet, but forgot to put my mark."
