Warriors striker, Knowledge Musona has been ruled out of the Warriors next AFCON 2017 encounter against Senegal this Thursday but team doctor, Nicholas Munyonga says the medical team is working with a target of ensuring Musona is fit for the Tunisia game.

Dr Munyonga said Musona sustained a mild right hamstring strain and indications are that there was no muscle tear.

"It is a grade one strain that we are going to treat according to standard hamstring strain injury treatment modalities," Dr Munyonga said in a statement.

"One of the key things of that treatment is rest and obviously we are not going to rush that the player returns to training or playing. We are therefore working with a target to make sure that Knowledge is back to play for the third game of the tournament if he is to get better. We have noticed improvement. Obviously, players like any other person have different times in terms of healing and therefore it will be very difficult to be specific when he will return to play," he added.

There had been fears a muscle tear would keep Musona out for the rest of the AFCON tournament but the Warriors medical team report has raised hope of a possible return by Musona before the end of the group stage.
