Grace Mugabe pleads for Mujuru forgiveness

Following the recent death of her long-ruling husband, Robert Mugabe, a vulnerable and once untouchable Grace is apparently reaching out to some of her erstwhile political rivals.

Among the people that the former first lady has made an emotional apology to is former vice president Joice Mujuru - whose brutal purging from the ruling Zanu PF in 2014 was sealed after Grace launched multiple savage attacks against the defenceless widow of the late liberation struggle hero, Solomon Mujuru.
It has emerged that Grace met Mujuru in Zvimba last week and went on to apologise profusely to the latter for having demolished and humiliated the former VP.

The sombre occasion of Mugabe's funeral was the first time in five years that Grace and Mujuru had met, after the late nonagenarian unceremoniously jettisoned his then deputy from both Zanu-PF and the government, together with five other bigwigs - over untested allegations of wanting to topple him from power.

It has also since emerged that Mujuru met with Grace again after their Zvimba encounter last Wednesday.

Well-placed sources told the Daily News at the weekend that Grace had sent a number of emissaries to Mujuru before the two meetings, saying that she had "something important" to tell her.

Mujuru yesterday confirmed meeting with Grace twice, amid reports that the former feuding foes had agreed to bury the hatchet and work together - more so since they were now both widows.
