Zimbabwe allowed to trade elephants

The government has accused animal rights pressure groups of sending "wrong and damaging" information about the country after they said Zimbabwean authorities had "illegally" sent 30 young elephants to China where they would be held in zoos and circuses.

Permanent secretary in the ministry of tourism and Hospitality Munesu Munodawafa, however, said ZimParks funded its operations by means of selling some live animals and it was legal as Zimbabwe is one of the four countries authorities to trade animals by Cities.
