President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Thursday met with a special envoy from Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi Minister of Transport and Communication Mr Carlos Mesquita, to discuss a number of bilateral issues including the fuel challenges affecting Zimbabwe.

The two reportedly discussed on increasing the volume of fuel pumped from Beira to Harare; through the Fereuka pipeline.

Feruka Pipeline is the only pipeline that channels fuel to Zimbabwe.

Recently, Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority hiked the price of fuel.

The latest hike has failed to ease nationwide shortages, with most of the fuel pumps in the capital still dry.

With prices surging, economists examining the official monthly data put inflation in September at 380%.

In January President Emmerson Mnangagwa tripled the price of fuel before leaving for a round trip in EuroAsia.

The price increase sparked a nationwide violent protest that was followed by a crackdown on citizens by the security forces.

The crackdown caused the Minister of State Security Owen Ncube to be slapped with sanctions by America.
