Rejuvenated Highlanders continued with their fine run to progress to the final of the 2019 Chibuku Super Cup after a 1-nil win over ZPC Kariba at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo this Sunday.

In-form striker Prince Dube made the difference in the 35th minute when he curled home a fine effort giving ZPC Kariba goalkeeper Takabva Mawaya no chance.

Highlanders got off to a quick start and tried to take the game to the visitors but failed to create a real chance at goal.

ZPC Kariba would pick up the pace as they started to press the home team, eventually getting free kicks but failed to convert.

The match, however, lost its tempo in the 25th minute after it started raining but Bosso found a way to cause problems for their opponents with Brian Banda picking a loose ball along the way but his shot went wide.

Prince Dube finally broke the deadlock when he curled home in the 35th minute giving  Highlanders a deserved lead.

It could have been 2-nil after Tinashe Makanda found the back of the net in the 42nd minute but he was ruled offside and the match went to halftime with Highlanders leading 1-nil

Makanda was at it again in the 77th minute but his effort crashed against the bar giving the visitors a sigh of relief.

ZPC Kariba's Ian Nekati was shown a red in the 82nd and this gave Bosso more comfort on the ball in a match that finally ended 1-nil in favour of the hosts.

Highlanders will play Ngezi Platinum in the final after the Mhondoro based side got the better of Harare City via spot-kicks at Baobab Stadium  Saturday.
