National Patriotic Front Spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire has questioned the ownership of the recent fleet of buses that were launched under the ZUPCO scheme.

Mawarire's probing questions arose after he realised that the buses were not branded in ZUPCO corporate colours.

Said Mawarire, "Has anyone questioned why so-called new Zupco buses commissioned by Mnangagwa are not branded in Zupco colours? Ndeani mabhazi aya nhai vehama? Zupco has its colours, basic corporate practice is to brand those buses in Zupco colours, is that hard to do?"

When asked whether it wont be a luxury to do so when there are pressing issues, Mawarire said, "The manufacturers normally offer that for free unless they are purchased from a middleman."

In the recent past Professor Jonathan Moyo has alleged that Mnangagwa owns the dubai jet that the President uses to fly inside and outside the country.
Moyo has alleged that the jet is a money making scheme for Mnangagwa because it is paid for by the state and the money goes to Mnangagwa and his allies.

Commenting on the matter South African based analyst Kelvin Mazhandu said the ownership of the buses must be put in the public domain to quell any speculations that may arise surrounding them.

"The ownership of these buses must always be made clear to the public because in times like these where the leadership is seen enjoying riches and the masses are suffering, you are bound to have such theories coming up," Mazhandu said. "The Parent Ministry of Local government should clear the speculations and assure the nation that the ZUPCO fleet is indeed a national asset and not a money making scheme sourced by a few elite in the country to benefit themselves."
