Chaos rocks Victoria Falls schools

There was chaos on Wednesday when teachers at Mosi oa Tunya High school in Victoria Falls refused to invigilate History Paper 1 because of incapacitation the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe have said.

The organisation reported that a vehicle had to be dispatched to ferry primary school teachers from Baobab primary school,Chinotimba Primary and Chamabondo primary schools to invigilate the paper at Mosi a Tunya  school.

"The primary school teachers in all schools in Vic Falls  refused and the district Schools Inspector begged School Heads, Deputies and Teachers in Charge, to take up the invigilating role."

ARTUZ has urged the government to urgently resolve the crisis currently rocking the education sector.

"The integrity of our examinations is in jeopardy. We urge government to urgently address the salary crisis to restore normalcy in our schools. We expect an allocation of not less than 20% of the national budget to the education sector. As per Dakar declaration."
