The Nkosana Moyo led Alliance for Peole's Agenda (APA) party has expressed concerns over the spike in the Covid-19 cases in the country after government announced that the cases have reached 132.

In a statement APA said COVID-19: Sharp spike in cases as 76 returnees test positive, there's no easy way to a healthy life during a pandemic.

Government announced that the cases ha increased to 132 cases with 76 new cases most of them recorded at quarantine centres in Masvingo, Beitbridge and Harare where citizens from South Africa and Botswana are kept.

"There has to be sacrifices at every level of society. Sadly despite the huge incidence of disease among the returning citizens, dozens are absconding from government run quarantine facilities," said APA.

"To prevent spread of disease, especially with the high disease burden in South Africa, returnees from South Africa must complete the mandatory quarantine to avoid endangering all of us. Let us make the necessary hard choices that ensures the safety of all."
