THREE Guruve miners were arraigned before Guruve magistrate Shingirai Mutiro yesterday for violating section 17 of the mining regulations.

The trio Michael Musiiwa (46), Brighton Mutaiwa (38) and Providence Kanengoni (31) pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Prosecutor Albert Mazhindu alleged on May 28 the Ministry of mines issued a prohibition order to the trio's mining syndicate (Mutaiwa) and Hweva mining syndicate to stop operations at Mutaiwa mine in Guruve.

The trio did not abide by the order and brought a Scania B340 11 tonne truck being driven by Leo Musemburi and loaded it with gold ore.

Police detectives working on a tip off intercepted the truck and Musemburi confirmed that the truck had  been loaded from the mine.

The trio was arrested and are expected back in court on June 15.
