The Vice President of Zimbabwe Driving School Owners Association ( ZDSOA)  Edwin Ndlovu has called for the government of Zimbabwe to direct VID depots across the country to commence testing aspiring drivers in both theory and practical driving tests.

Ndlovu made the remarks while addressing mourners in Mabuze Village, Insiza at the burial of Thembinkosi Nkala the owner of ACT driving school who passed away on Monday at Mpilo hospital.

Ndlovu said as the national association, they have presented their proposals on how both driving schools and VID should operate under this level 2 of lockdown taking into consideration the safety of the learner, instructor, and VID examiner.

He explained how the vehicle, the learner, the instructor, and the VID  officer will be sanitized before and after the test adding that the same method will be used for provisional license tests in a class where social distancing would be observed.

The vice president of the association further said the delay in reopening of VID depots is not only inconveniencing the general public but is also limiting government revenue base as VID is one of the treasury cash cows.

Nkala is survived by his wife and two children.
