Black uMfolosi sends message of condolence to late Joseph Shabala's family

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of Joseph Shabalala, a leading Isicathamiya musician and a greatest leader of our times, and who has greatly influenced the Isicathamiya music scene in the SADC, AU region, beyond and across all generations.

Black uMfolosi of Zimbabwe join fellow South Africans, Southern Africa and the entire world in celebrating the life of a legend whose music has cut across generations, inspiring, entertaining and educating the society through his secular and sacred songs.

Joseph Shabalala was a leading Southern African and the entire continent musician covering the teachings of life, social culture and well known in South Africa, the continent and in the international arena.

Joseph Shabalala has impacted and inspired many artists with his classic hits that inspire even today. All the people who knew him greatly respected him and will always keep the memory of a great musician.

At a time when our black musicians and in particular our genre was looked down upon. Galant and leading musicians like ubaba uShabalala stood firm in ensuring our music reached all the high in the continent and the entire world. Our music is now recognized and loved in the whole world because of the heroes like our torch bearer ubaba uShabalala.

"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure'' we shall all miss his voice and sight but never from our hearts as we listen to his inspiring music.

We send our deepest condolences to the family, friends, music fraternity, and his fans upon this time of bereavement, and may God bring you the much-needed peace and comfort till we meet again.
