'Buyanga receives death threats'

04 Jun 2020 at 17:36hrs | Views
BUSINESSMAN Frank Buyanga claims he has received death threats from his ex-girlfriend, Chantelle Muteswa's father as the battle for custody of their minor child drags on.

Buyanga has been embroiled in fiery court battles with Chantelle over the guardianship of their child, which led to the police issuing a warrant of arrest for him.

The fight has sucked in President Emmerson Mnangagwa's son Collins and controversial businessman Delish Nguwaya, who have been accused by Buyanga of interfering with his personal family matters by influencing judgments against him at the High Court.

The threats came after Buyanga posted on his Facebook a popular phrase by Maya Angelou after he donated an assortment of goods by one of his companies, The Cape Mint, recently to the Eswatini community in South Africa to mitigate the vulnerability in the face of the COVID-19 lockdown.

But the businessman claimed, Lawrence Muteswa, his ex-girlfriend's father, responded to his post with a threat to his life: "Your days are numbered."

Efforts to contact Muteswa were futile, while Chantelle was not picking calls.

Muteswa once communicated with Buyanga on Facebook during the period extending from August 8, 2013 and September 3, 2016, NewsDay established.

Buyanga also acknowledged his relationship with Chantelle to her father through the same platform using the same account. Among other things, they also communicated about Chantelle's grandfather's death.

The businessman confirmed owning the Facebook account, but refused to elaborate.
