Tribalist Chamisa shuts the door on Ndebeles again

07 Jun 2020 at 19:49hrs | Views
It is him again. Nelson Chamisa, the troubled leader of the so called MDC Alliance. Right at the time when his decision to fire Thokozani Khupe has come back to haunt the MDC Alliance, he has done it again. In a bid to continue feeding his tribal grudges, he has excluded Matabele from his latest list of appointees. Tribalists will never learn.

Zimbabwe is on the verge of a bitter civil war and split that would see Matabeleland breakaway to re- establish its statehood as at 3 November 1893. At the epicenter of the split is tribalism which has degenerated into genocide, continued oppression, marginalisation, hegemony and segregation against the people of Matabeleland. Is Chamisa aware of the above and the consequences thereof? Is he learning anything? Not at all. As a matter of fact all Shona political leaders are too drunk with political power to even realise that Zimbabwe is on the highway to implosion fueled by the politics of tribe.

The loud and clear voices from Matabeleland calling for independence cannot be ignored forever.

The MDC Alliance house is in shambles as I write. There is fear and shuddering  as the MDC faction led by Thokozani Khupe is recalling MDC Alliance MPs left right and center. The main cause is nothing but tribalism.

Out of fear of being led by Thokozani Khupe, a Matabele woman who was supposed to automatically take over power at MDC after Morgan Tsvangirai's death, Chamisa, his advisors and their multitude of Shona supporters decided to use their tribal emotions than brains to subdue Thokozani Khupe.

The MDC constitution was disregarded, rationality set aside as tribalism set in. Thus tribalistic Chimisa, his advisors, blindly followed by their multitudes of  Shona supporters who do not want to be led by a Ndebele person even for an hour, staged a coup and discarded Thokozani Khupe unconstitutionally.

As expected of a Ndebele politician whose services are no longer needed by their masters in Harare, Thokozani Khupe was humiliated and survived death by a whisker.

She was  referred to as a dissident and told  point blank that a Ndebele cannot lead Shonas and that she must go back to Matabeleland where she can lead. A group of Shona MDC youth attempted to burn her in a thatched hut during Tsvangirai's funeral in Buhera. If it were not for the rain that extinguished the fire, Thokozane Khupe would have been counted among over 40 000  Matabeles who have  died at the hands of Shona tribalists.

The situation caused the second tribal split of the MDC after the major one in 2005. The tribal split of ZAPU in 1963 birthed Zanupf, a Shona supremacist party that is the mother of tribalism in Zimbabwe. Today the president of Zimbabwe is imposed by the military leaders through coups than elections because of Shona factional wars within Zanupf. Still, Chamisa refuses to learn from what is happening right under his nose.

The demon of tribalism has claimed over a million lives
in Africa through genocides particularly in Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan and Zimbabwe. Minorities are always at the receiving end.

In Zimbabwe over 40 000 unarmed Matabele people have been slaughtered in cold blood. The murder continues subtlety in its physical and psychological form.

Matabeles in prisons are poisoned and those in the army are deliberately posted in the front lines of battles in foreign lands to be killed in the war fields. Many have died unnoticed. Our identity, culture, languages, pride and dignity is murdered on a daily basis.

Being born a Matabele in Zimbabwe puts you at risk of being murdered in cold blood or marginalised in all spheres of life.

The Shona supremacist government of Zimbabwe decides when Matabele must die. When you hear them say they are seeing cockroaches, dissidents, extras or foreigners in Matabeleland, you should know that the Zimbabwe National Army 5th Brigade would be deployed to kill, rape, maim, burn down homes and torture innocent unarmed Matabele civilians.

With the main opposition MDC following on the tribal footprints of Zanupf, the only permanent solution to end serious political and social problems faced by Matabele people in Zimbabwe is the restoration of Matabeleland state as at 3 November 1893.

For Matabele people living in Zimbabwe there are only two options : a) to be cowards and live in Zimbabwe to be made sacrificial lambs whose blood will always feed the demon of tribalism, and forever live as poor slaves of Shona people
b) join MLO to fight for the restoration of Matabeleland so that you would enjoy your rights to self determination, run your economy, control your resources and borders and live in an environment where there is peace and tranquility away from the slaughter house, Zimbabwe where there is tribalism and hate, where being Matabele is a crime punishable by death.

Some of us have chosen to be counted among  those who would rather die in the battle field fighting for the independence of Matabeleland than being part of the statistics of those who die of natural causes or murdered and oppressed by the Zimbabwe government.

If the situation demands, we are ready to take up arms and shoot our way to freedom.
