Re-Educating SADC

07 Oct 2019 at 17:16hrs | Views
Dear Editor,

In the midst of tyranny and fascism in Zimbabwe. The 16 states of Southern Africa (SADC) in August 2019 expressed solidarity with Zimbabwe and called for the immediate lifting of the sanctions. They have planned October 25th 2019 to be the day they will be protesting against Zimbabwean sanctions. But what due diligence did SADC conduct to be informed that the sanctions are illegal for them to choose this course of action?

SADC needs re-educating on this. It is actually the continuing repression under Mnangagwa that has prevented the post-Mugabe regime from accessing foreign credit or ending US, UK and EU trade sanctions for human rights violation. These sanctions are targeted on individual sociopaths and entities. If SADC was an effective safety net it would have stopped the egotistical sociopath ED Mnangagwa and protected democracy, their conduct is recalcitrant and democracy is just an alien concept. SADC is now a biased propagandist organization that's pushing ED Mnangagwa as honest, saint and a victim.
