Malema predicts more departures from EFF

Despite the number of prominent and high-ranking figures dumping the EFF to join the MK Party, the fiery party leader, Julius Malema has signalled more exits, adamantly saying his party will remain standing.

Former president Jacob Zuma's legal representative, Dali "Bhuti Dali" Mpofu, as Malema would call him, is the latest senior member of the EFF to join MKP.

IOL reported on Thursday morning about his departure.

Malema indicated that he was unmoved by this, as the party list now contained solid members. He added that two more members were due to leave the party.

Venting on X immediately after the breaking news, Malema said: "Only two more of your favourites remain, and the list will be finalised.

"They sing beautifully and are always willing to pose for pictures and sign roll calls, but remember, their souls are long gone.

"To prevent any potential hurt, it's crucial to heed the guidance of the leadership. We remain standing and are not going anywhere under a criminal syndicate," he said.

It is understood that the leaders he was talking about are Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and the party's national chairperson, Veronica Mente.

The party's former deputy president, Floyd Shivambu, previously mentioned in an interview that the leadership of the EFF wanted to follow him to MKP after he announced his departure.

He revealed that the top leadership knew about him leaving the party, but they faked their shock to Malema when it became public.

Shivambu said he felt there was no need to alert Malema.

Mpofu has left the EFF at a time when it is preparing for its elective conference in December.

Mpofu's exit means that the position of deputy president is uncertain. Mandisa Mashego is preparing to run against Marshall Dlamini for secretary-general.
