Bulawayo police spokesperson retires

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube has officially retired, concluding an illustrious 33-year career marked by bravery, dedication, and a deep commitment to community-centered policing.

At a farewell ceremony held at a local hotel yesterday, Insp Ncube was celebrated by colleagues and senior officials for his unwavering dedication to protecting Bulawayo residents and fostering trust between law enforcement and the community.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, who was the guest of honour, commended Insp Ncube for his exemplary service.

"Your unwavering commitment, bravery, and tireless dedication have left an indelible mark on the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). Your leadership, trust-building, and professionalism have earned you the respect and admiration of colleagues and citizens alike," said Commissioner Nyathi.

Quoting Proverbs 22:1, he added:

"A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches. Insp Ncube's legacy of integrity and service will continue to inspire the ZRP."

Commissioner Nyathi urged other officers to emulate Insp Ncube's dedication and values.

Speaking on behalf of the Officer Commanding Bulawayo Province, Assistant Commissioner Aristor Chikowore highlighted Insp Ncube's spotless reputation and unwavering commitment to justice and fairness.

"From a beat cop to a corporate communications officer, your journey has been marked by exceptional leadership and dedication to public safety. You have tirelessly worked to create a safer and more just community for all," said Commissioner Wiklef Makamache in his message.

Insp Ncube was praised as a proponent of community policing, forging close ties with Bulawayo residents to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public.

"Your belief in the power of community policing and your ability to connect with residents have been instrumental in fostering trust and collaboration," said Commissioner Makamache.

He also lauded Insp Ncube's influence on his colleagues, noting his efforts to instill professionalism, accountability, and compassion within the force.

As Insp Ncube enters retirement, senior officials expressed confidence that his leadership and dedication would continue to inspire others.

"Your legacy will guide us in striving for excellence and dedication in our duties. We wish you success and fulfillment in this new chapter," Commissioner Makamache concluded.
