A 42-year-old man from Mzilikazi, Bulawayo, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute that escalated into violence.
The incident occurred on December 2, 2024. According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the accused attacked his wife during an argument, punching her in the nose and striking her forehead with a flower vase. The situation worsened when he reportedly used a broken bottle to stab her, causing injuries to her left ear and left arm.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the NPAZ confirmed the man's arrest and remand. "He was remanded to the 18th of December 2024, awaiting medical report," the statement read.
The victim's condition has not been disclosed, but the severity of the injuries will be assessed through a medical report, which is expected to guide further legal proceedings.
