Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Homicide in Bulawayo have arrested a 40-year-old man, Linas Tshuma, in connection with the theft of US$46,000 from a vehicle parked in Kwekwe's Central Business District last week. The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the arrest following a credible tip-off that led officers to Tshuma's residence in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi stated, "Reference is made to the Zimbabwe Republic Police post on X platform regarding a case of theft of US$46,000.00 in Kwekwe Central Business District from a parked Mazda CX-5 vehicle. The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Linas Tshuma (40) in connection with the case."

During the arrest, police recovered several items believed to be linked to the crime, including a Samsung M13 cellphone suspected to have been purchased with the stolen funds, a Toyota Mark X vehicle used as a getaway car, and clothing matching those worn by suspects captured on CCTV at the scene. Commissioner Nyathi further revealed that detectives recovered a driller and rivet gun, tools thought to have been used during the robbery.

While Tshuma is in custody, a manhunt is ongoing for his alleged accomplices, identified as Thethelani Ndlovu, Esau Mazarura, Bhekinkosi Tshuma, Mpiloenhle Ndlovu, Xolani Tshuma, Gugulethu Khumalo, and Reason Moyo, also known as Tsorinso.

Police have urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward as investigations continue.
