Zimbabwe Consulate in Johannesburg extends working hours

The Republic of Zimbabwe Consulate in Johannesburg has declared an expansion of operational hours for birth certificate registration and passport applications. According to a statement reported by Pindula News, Mr. Eria Phiri, the Consulate General, stated that in response to heightened demand, the Consulate will now be active from 08:00 to 16:00 on all working days.
In addition to the regular Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, the Consulate will exclusively facilitate birth certificate registration and passport applications on two specific dates: Wednesday, December 13, 2023, and Wednesday, December 20, 2023. On these specific days, the Consulate's operational hours will be from 08:00 to 15:00.
Phiri emphasized that clearances for repatriating human remains for burial in Zimbabwe will strictly be processed on weekdays through the existing electronic platforms.
There are a few important points to remember:
1. All consular appointments are free of charge.
2. The Zimbabwe Embassy in Pretoria, as well as the two Consulates in Johannesburg and Cape Town, do not have agents acting on their behalf.
