7 hrs ago | Views
Two men from Bulawayo, Richard Ncube (48) and Alex Moyo (22), appeared in a Harare court on charges of aggravated indecent assault following accusations of sexually abusing a male passenger they had offered a lift. The incident reportedly took place on the night of November 10, 2024.
According to the prosecution, the complainant boarded a Top Channel Transport haulage truck at Halfway, Chegutu, intending to travel to Chitungwiza via Harare. Ncube was driving the truck, with Moyo accompanying him as his assistant.
The court heard that upon arriving in Harare around 1 a.m. on November 11, Ncube parked the truck at Zim Meal Company in Waterfalls, where the complainant decided to wait until morning. As he dozed off, Ncube allegedly removed his clothes and attempted to touch the complainant inappropriately, prompting him to ask Ncube to stop.
Moyo then allegedly threatened the complainant with a gun-like object, instructing him to comply with Ncube's advances. Under duress, the complainant reportedly complied with the demands. Following the incident, he spent the night in the truck as he was unfamiliar with the area.
The next morning, the complainant went to ZRP Mbare to report the incident, leading to the arrest of Ncube and Moyo. Both men were remanded in custody by Magistrate Mrs. Marehwanazvo Gofa, with a bail hearing set for November 19, 2024.
