Zimbabwe international soccer player Teenage Hadebe is undoubtedly making waves both on and off the field, with his Major League Soccer (MLS) contract at FC Cincinnati showing impressive figures that reflect his growing stature in the game.

Hadebe, who was raised in the bustling Makokoba suburb of Bulawayo, is now a prominent figure in the American soccer scene, earning US$704,952 (about R12.8 million) per year as his base salary. This figure is just the beginning for the talented defender, as his guaranteed compensation, which includes marketing bonuses and agent fees, brings the total to US$854,952 (approximately R15.5 million) annually. However, performance bonuses are not included in these reported figures, meaning his total earnings could rise further.

Having joined FC Cincinnati just two months ago, Hadebe's journey in the MLS has been a learning curve, but he's quickly adapted. The 28-year-old has impressed fans and teammates alike with his commitment to improving and forming strong defensive partnerships on the field. Despite feeling "lost" in his initial games, Hadebe has steadily gained confidence and integrated into the team's style of play.

"In the first games, I looked lost," he admitted. "But now I think I'm learning a lot from the guys, and I'm starting to adjust to our style of play. I think I've been improving each and every game. We're starting to understand each other," said Hadebe, reflecting on his growing understanding with teammates such as Brandon Robinson, Chidozie Awaziem, and Ian Murphy.

The former Bantu Rovers, Chicken Inn, and Highlanders player is known for his strong work ethic and determination, qualities that have helped him thrive in the competitive MLS environment. Hadebe emphasized the importance of teamwork and communication in his defensive partnership, stating, "You can see how hard they work, how we are giving in the match. We always cover each other, but I think by now, we're forming a good partnership."

Hadebe is also focused on keeping clean sheets for the club and has made it clear that he's fully committed to FC Cincinnati's success. "I have to give it all for the club, for the fans. I'm making sure to try my best in these remaining games," he said, pledging to put everything into his performances.

Reflecting on his time at FC Cincinnati, Hadebe added, "I wish I could have started with this team for the first game of the season. I'm happy that next season I'll start with the guys. I just can't wait to keep giving it my all. You'll see the best of Teenage here soon. It's coming."

As Hadebe continues to build his reputation in the MLS and earn lucrative paychecks, his success story stands as an inspiration to young Zimbabwean footballers dreaming of playing at the highest levels of the sport.
