Mnangagwa's top aides stampede in congratulating Auxillia

The Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, the First Lady of Zimbabwe, for successfully attaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
In a statement issued on Friday, Martin Rushwaya, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, commended the First Lady for her academic achievement, highlighting how the qualification will further enhance her humanitarian work and serve as an inspiration to women and girls aspiring for academic excellence.
On Thursday, the First Lady was capped during the 25th graduation ceremony at Midlands State University in Gweru, where President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who serves as Chancellor of all state universities, presided over the ceremony. Dr. Mnangagwa was among the 6,479 graduands at the event.
Rushwaya described the First Lady's doctorate as an important milestone that would add significant value to her existing humanitarian initiatives. "This well-earned qualification will, without doubt, add even greater weight to her world-famed humanitarian work, which entails strong administrative and nutritional dimensions," he said in the statement.
The First Lady's thesis on "The Efficiency of Hotels in Zimbabwe: A Data Envelopment Analysis Approach" is expected to contribute to advancing the tourism sector in Zimbabwe, particularly in terms of improving operational efficiency within the hospitality industry. Her academic achievement is also expected to serve as a beacon for female empowerment, particularly in the fields of education and leadership.
Rushwaya further emphasized how the achievement of the First Lady has inspired the OPC to work towards improving Zimbabwe's educational standards. "We in the OPC feel challenged and inspired to better our educational standards always for more competent performance in our duties in the unrelenting drive towards fulfillment of Vision 2030," he said.
The statement also included congratulatory remarks to President Mnangagwa, who, along with the Mnangagwa family, has supported the First Lady in her academic journey. "Hearty congratulations to you, our dear First Lady, to His Excellency the President, Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, and to the rest of the Mnangagwa family who stood by her as she burned the midnight oil until her successful graduation," Rushwaya added.
