Two fishermen drown

Chiweshe-based fish mongers Claudius Gunduza (49) and Tinashe Motsi (33) drowned at a local dam in Chiweshe while casting their fishing nets.
Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha confirmed the case.
"I can confirm a sudden death case in Chiweshe where Gunduza and Motsi drowned yesterday, their bodies have since been retrieved by the police sub aqua unit," Chikasha said.
A witness David Gunduza said when the two did not return home he went to the dam to check on them and discovered their dead bodies floating in water.
"When the two did not return home l went to the dam and discovered their dead bodies floating in water, that is when l called for help and a police report was filed," David said.
"The police attended the scene and with the help of villagers the bodies were successfully retrieved."
Police warned people not to play near water bodies.
