Magistrate Courts set for construction in Cowdray Park and Emganwini

The 2025 national budget has earmarked a total of ZiG711 million for key priority projects in Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, covering infrastructure, healthcare, housing, and cultural heritage development.
Two significant projects include the construction of magistrate courts in Cowdray Park and Emganwini: Emganwini Magistrate Court: A two-storey building featuring 14 offices at a cost of ZiG1.65 million. Cowdray Park Magistrate Court: A three-storey facility with 20 offices at an estimated cost of ZiG1.5 million.
The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) is set to establish a stronger presence in Bulawayo by acquiring an office block valued at ZiG4.62 million.
Major investments are planned for the city's health sector: Ingutsheni Central Hospital: Rehabilitation works, expansion of the laundry facility, installation of new equipment, and upgrades to the electrical, kitchen, and laundry systems. Mpilo Central Hospital: Procurement and installation of laundry equipment worth ZiG70 million, alongside renovation and construction of staff houses, as well as upgrades to the maternity wing.
The Dr. J.N. Nkomo Museum will receive ZiG6 million for the memorialization of the liberation icon, enhancing its status as a significant cultural and historical site.
The Imbizo Housing Project for non-commissioned members of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) will deliver 4,800 housing units, addressing a critical accommodation need.
