The body of a 25-year-old man was discovered floating in Mazowe River on Thursday, with initial police investigations suggesting that the young man was murdered following a dispute over a sex worker.

The victim, identified as Taurai Sahanya, was found near the Copa Cabana Business Centre in Murewa on December 5, 2024. Police confirmed the incident through their official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, revealing that Sahanya's body displayed signs of physical violence. According to the police report, the victim had visible bruises on his hands, a deformed forehead, and a swollen left eye.

Initial investigations suggest that the altercation that led to Sahanya's death stemmed from an argument over a sex worker. The police have identified Magejeni Shelton as one of the suspects involved in the attack, along with two other unknown individuals.

The police have urged the public to come forward with any information that might assist in the investigation. "We are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding this case to come forward and assist our investigations," the ZRP post read.

The authorities are working to gather more details about the suspects and the circumstances surrounding the murder, and further developments are expected as the investigation progresses.
