Nkosinathi Ncube, the National Treasurer of the Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP), was abducted this evening, 13 December 2024, by a group of heavily armed officers from the CID Homicide department in Bulawayo.
The abduction took place at approximately 8:45 PM at Ncube's business stand, located at the corner of Herbert Chitepo and Selborne Road. According to eyewitnesses, three unmarked twin-cab vehicles, driven by officers armed with AK47s, pulled up at the scene before the incident occurred. Despite the officers' efforts to act covertly, some members of the public managed to identify the kidnappers as members of the CID Homicide unit.
Ncube, a prominent figure in the MRP, previously served a prison sentence of three years at Khami Maximum Prison, Chikurubhi Maximum Prison, and Harare Central Prison, and is known to be a key member of the MRP-9, a group of party members involved in political activities.
Following the incident, MRP officials quickly gathered at the Bulawayo Central Police Station and the CID Homicide offices to search for Ncube. MRP President Mqondisi Moyo has contacted Mr. Nqobani Sithole to engage with the Homicide department in an effort to secure Ncube's release.
The circumstances surrounding the abduction remain unclear, and this is a developing story. More details are expected to emerge as MRP officials continue their efforts to locate Ncube.
This is a developing story and will be updated as new information becomes available
