A 34-YEAR-OLD suspected rapist who allegedly raped a minor during midnight is in trouble after he was charged with rape.
Xolisani Sibanda was dragged to Plumtree magistrates courts where he appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
He was remanded in custody to January 9.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa alleged on December 6 last year, Sibanda knocked at the complainant's bedroom at midnight.
When the complainant asked Sibanda what he wanted, he lied that his grandmother had sent him to collect sugar.
The minor opened the door and demanded to sleep in the same room with her upon gaining entry.
She refused and he produced handcuffs threatening to arrest the minor before raping her.
Hours later he left and the minor told her cousin about the rape leading to the arrest of the suspect.
