Former Norton National Assembly representative and Village Headman, Temba Mliswa, has approached the High Court seeking to halt the upcoming Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) elections scheduled for January 25.

The matter was heard today at the High Court in Bulawayo before Justice Tawanda Chitapi’s Chambers. Mliswa’s appeal was ruled urgent, with the case expected to return for further hearing on Thursday.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mliswa expressed his determination, stating, "My case went into the Bulawayo High Court today and in a positive development it was ruled urgent. Therefore, we shall be returning on Thursday. Efforts to merge it with Magaya's case have been quashed as that one has already progressed to later stages."

Mliswa's bid comes as a challenge to the electoral processes of ZIFA, amidst mounting concerns about transparency and governance within the football governing body. His legal action seeks to address what he perceives as irregularities and a need for judicial intervention to ensure fair and credible elections.
