Sungura maestro Alick Macheso is set to kick off his 2025 showbiz calendar with a spectacular free bash at Rufaro Stadium in Harare on January 25.

The event, which coincides with the launch of Swan Valley cigarettes, promises an unforgettable music extravaganza featuring some of Zimbabwe's top performers. Renowned artists such as Winky D, Saintfloew, Kinnah, Nisha TS, Master H, Darula, and the dynamic duo DJ Fantan alongside DJ Levels will grace the stage.

From 9 am to 10 pm, fans will enjoy an exciting day filled with music and soccer. The event will include three social soccer matches that blend entertainment and competition. Star FM will take on Swan Valley FC, while Zim Musicians FC will face off against Legends Select. The day's highlight will be the Legends match featuring Dynamos versus CAPS United FC.

Swan Valley International managing director Ushewokunze Mutemwa expressed confidence in the event's success, stating, "We are fully ahead with plans as the legends' teams of Dynamos and CAPS United are ready for the event. The musicians' teams are raring to go, and our own Swan FC is taking on Star FM."

Mutemwa emphasized the importance of events like these for local communities, saying, "We believe these sorts of events are important for local communities, and our children need to meet our football heroes." He also highlighted that Rufaro Stadium, with its rich history since 1980, is the ideal venue for launching their brand and celebrating Zimbabwean culture.

Regarding safety, Mutemwa assured fans that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) will provide security throughout the event, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. He also clarified the entry process, stating, "It is not really a free show per se, but a cheap one. Those wishing to attend must buy two packs of our cigarettes and show them at the entrance gate for access to the event."

In addition to the music and soccer lineup, Swan Valley's brand launch has seen successful campaigns in Beitbridge and is now making its way across other regions such as Harare, Mutare, and Bulawayo. The initiative, called the Swan Movement, aims to engage with tobacco farmers and promote the brand's values in rural communities.

Fans attending the Rufaro event are promised a full day of entertainment, with a variety of performances ranging from traditional Sungura to energetic hyper performances. Soccer enthusiasts will also have the chance to watch legends showcase their skills in a truly unique celebration of music and football at Rufaro Stadium.
