The Veterans Fund, along with the Matebeleland North, Bulawayo, and Matebeleland South Presidential War Veterans Fund, has officially been launched, providing significant financial and material support to war veterans in the region.

During the launch, each of the three provinces received $150,000 in cash to support veterans' programs and welfare. In addition to this funding, war veterans in Matebeleland North and Bulawayo received $20,000 each as take-home allowances, while Matebeleland South veterans received $14,000 for the same purpose.

As part of the event, 2,000 food hampers were distributed to all war veterans who attended the program. The hampers, along with the cash disbursements, aim to recognize and address the needs of war veterans who played a crucial role in the country's liberation struggle.

The initiative highlights the government's ongoing commitment to improving the welfare of war veterans, especially in regions that have historically faced challenges in accessing support. Officials present at the event expressed gratitude to the veterans for their sacrifices and reaffirmed the importance of ensuring their well-being and recognition.

The launch of the fund is expected to have a positive impact on the livelihoods of the war veterans and their families, while also strengthening ties between the government and the veteran community.
